Célia Rennesson – Réseau VRAC & Réemploi: what do we really need?
In this new episode of the podcast «On The Way» proposed by BNP Paribas Personal Finance, we welcome Célia Rennesson, co-founder of the Réseau Vrac & Réemploi (meaning Bulk & Reuse in French).
It was in 2012, after watching a tv show highlighting the transition to zero-waste by an American woman, that Célia transformed her ecological awareness into a concrete initiative that today federates hundreds of actors around the same mission: to democratize bulk and reuse to reduce our environmental impact on a daily basis. This is how Réseau Vrac was born in 2016, an association whose mission is to structure, develop and promote bulk sales in France.
Réseau Vrac was born from a simple observation: we have too much waste related to our groceries, but it is difficult, if not impossible, to carry out all of them without waste, in other words: in bulk. Apart from cashew nuts or oatmeal, there is a lack of solutions, the actors in the sector are dispersed and poorly coordinated. Faced with this observation, Célia Rennesson decided to create a structure capable of supporting and guiding the various players in the bulk industry, whether they are producers, distributors, or suppliers of logistics solutions.
Today, the association brings together more than 900 member companies, covering the entire bulk value chain. This dense network not only makes it possible to strengthen the links between members, but also to weigh in discussions with the public authorities to change the legislative framework which, as you will discover in this episode, is often the magic key to accelerate the movement and force concrete changes.
Célia Rennesson invites us to discover her background, her convictions and her vision for the future. With passion and determination, she shows us that each of us can contribute to the transformation of our society towards a more sustainable model.
